I am specialised in the making of Double Basses and Violas da Gamba.
I make for professionnal musicians, soloists or orchestra, for the classical or Jazz.
All the parts and steps related to the making of the instrument ranging from the thickness of the woods, to the sculpture of the head, through the marquetry, the varnish, ... are carried out in the workshop in accordance with the natural and traditional methods.
Instruments made in the workshop are most often based and inspired by existing models but it is possible to develop an instrument according to your convenience.
The making of a double bass or a viola da gamba represents around 350 hours of work. I use the same techniques and the same tools as in the 18th century, for a perfect mastery of the parameters essential to the quality of an exceptional instrument.
