Biography

Coming from a family of musicians, music teachers, painters and carillonneurs over several generations (the Lannoy family), I was interested quite young in the artistic world and mainly in musical instruments, hence my entry into the conservatory. to introduce me to the piano, drums, double bass and viola da gamba.

My two DIY grandfathers, one of whom ran a sawmill in Bois-Colombes (92), near Paris, allowed me to familiarize myself with wood and the various tools.

The passion for wood and musical instruments drives me to join a first violin making school located in Antwerp, Belgium for the manufacture of Violin, Cello and Guitar, then, a second school in Chichester, United Kingdom, specializing in the manufacture of baroque instruments such as the viola da gamba.

The latter school including courses in sculpture, marquetry, acoustic analyzes, baroque bow making and practice of the Viole de Gambe taught by Mrs. Alison Crum, president of the English company of Viole de Gambe.

The desire for further training convinced me to join a workshop in London to learn and practice archery for three years, notably for the London Symphonic Orchestra.

Today, in my workshop located in Clichy (92), I mainly take care of the manufacture, restoration, repair and maintenance of instruments and bows of the quartet and baroque for individuals and local and international professionals. as well as for the Conservatories of Paris, Ile de France and the Paris Opera.

In order to bring me closer to my family from "Corme-Royal", I decided in September 2021 to open a new workshop in this magnificent town close to "Saintes", to give the same services to customers and Music Conservatories of Charente-Maritime.
